Politically Speaking, why is the Left always accused of being for Abortion when the Conservative left is not?

It's ridiculous to assume that either political party in the US is on "opposite sides of the fence". You are aware that neither side has pushed to stop abortion right? There is only one party in the US. There are many countries that allow for multiple parties so as to create the illusion of choice. Egypt, Nigeria, Zimbabwe etc...
